What is Health Coaching?
Health coaching (or 'health and wellness coaching') involves educating and empowering individuals to create a dietary & lifestyle habits which are aligned with their health goals - so they can become the happiest & healthiest version of themselves.
What Can a Certified Health Coach Do?
Health Coaches are experts in wellness, lifestyle and behaviour change.
As a certified Health Coach, I have been trained in how the body works, nutrition and fitness, and have a variety of coaching tools at hand to support clients with long-term change which aligns with their health goals.
In practice, this means that certified Health Coaches can:

Support clients in identifying appropriate health goals;
Review clients' current lifestyles & dietary habits, and provide clarity re how these existing habits may be contributing to existing symptoms;
Empower clients with information re which lifestyle & dietary tweaks will move the needle for them, to alleviate symptoms and support their health goals;
Provide accountability, support & motivation; and
Provide practical tools to support behaviour change, helping clients to break old habits and establish new ones.
Whilst health coaching doesn't replace medical advice/intervention, working with a health coach can in many cases complement medical support or diagnosis by, for example:
Looking to the root cause of any symptoms/conditions;
Providing lifestyle & dietary support to alleviate or reverse such symptoms/conditions;
Preventing the development or worsening of symptoms/conditions
What Does 'Holistic' Health Coaching Mean?
'Holistic' health coaching refers to a style of health coaching which appreciates the individual as a whole, rather than looking at specific symptoms or bodily systems in isolation.
So, as a certified Holistic Health Coach, I will:
Consider the interconnectedness of different bodily systems (for example, skin issues may in some cases relate to poor gut health or an imbalance of hormones); and
Recognise that wider aspects of an individual's life (financial, emotional or mental wellbeing) may be impacting their physical wellbeing,
and weave these considerations into my work.
How Can Health Coaching Benefit You?
Let's take a look at a case study...
You're experiencing lots of 'random' symptoms - you're sleeping poorly, suffering with brain fog & your periods have become irregular. You've been the the GP, but your bloods have come back clear; you're told that nothing seems to be wrong. But you know your body - something's off and you don't want to settle for feeling 'just about ok'.

As your Health Coach, I'll support you to identify the root cause of these symptoms by conducing a detailed review of your lifestyle and listening to your experience - how you feel; when it started; what else is going on in your life; what do you want to achieve...? I'll explain how & why these symptoms could be related to your diet/lifestyle & what we can do about it.
I'll then support you in setting appropriate health goals and - session by session - we'll take steps to achieve them. You'll understand why the lifestyle tweaks you're making matter and how to implement them in a sustainable and convenient way - so the results you get are long-lasting.
